Dr. Hubbard’s Practice:

Dr Hubbard stresses diagnosis, treatment and prevention of (health problems) mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system. His approach to chiropractic medicine focuses on the overall health of his patients and includes natural non-surgical treatments which rely on the body’s innate recuperative abilities.

Dr. Hubbard specializes in treatment of injuries to the spine, shoulders, knees, other joints and soft tissue. He also provides consultation of nutritional needs as he completed additional education in Functional Nutrition-the analysis of blood work to determine the nutritional needs of patients.

Renown in the area for his work with injuries stemming from auto accident, sports and work related injuries; he emphasizes active care which involves the patient participating in his/her care in recovering from injury.

Biography

Thirty years ago, Dr Hubbard moved to Portland from Canada to pursue a professional hockey career. He played three years with the Portland Winter Hawks. In 1981 he was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played exhibition hockey in the NHL with the Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings and went on to play professional hockey in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin, while keeping his summer home in Portland. A knee injury ended his career in 1987.

During his professional hockey years, Dr Hubbard was a chiropractic patient. He and his doctor became good friends. With his hockey career abruptly ending, his chiropractic physician suggested he pursue studies in chiropractic medicine. Becoming increasingly interested in the field, Dr Hubbard followed the advice and in 1990 entered Western States Chiropractic College (WSCC) in Portland Oregon.

After his graduation from WSCC in 1994, Dr Hubbard opened his first practice in Tigard, OR and pursued a formal education career teaching at WSCC.

Dr. Hubbard closed his practice in 2003 and returned to hockey when he took coaching positions in Eugene, OR and Great Falls, MT.

Following the birth of his son, Dr Hubbard chose to stay close to home and resumed his chiropractic practice as Director of Technical Service with an established clinic in the historic Sellwood area of Portland.

Four years later he opened Total Health Wellness Center (THWC) with a vision of providing a facility where patients receive exceptional chiropractic, naturopathic, acupuncture and massage therapy.

Statement from Dr. Hubbard: “I believe we have been able to assemble some of the top healthcare providers in the Portland metropolitan area. Patients, who receive care from any of the providers at THWC, will receive the excellent care that I envisioned.”

Outside the clinic Dr Hubbard spends time with family. Together, they enjoy all the outdoor activities: hiking, fishing, biking, boating and quiet times at home.
